SOUTH PARKLAND REDA OFFER’S
FREE-TECH

Do you have dial-up? Or is availability to a computer service out of the question? Well, you’re not alone, and now we want to help rectify those issues.
Micheal Halyk, Economic Development Officer for South Parkland REDA announced today that their office has set up another service to offer to Melville and area. Beginning immediately residents within South Parkland REDA can arrange to utilize high speed Internet access with some technical support, through our office in Melville.
Over and over we deal with individuals who do not have access to a computer, and yet we urge them to check out different government programs or business opportunities which requires going on the Internet. We also have a host of farmers who are also dealing with Government agencies or business related activities that require working over the Internet. In a number of cases with our friends from the rural area that have access but it is dial-up and as such it is slow, many times to slow to access forms that need to be filled on line for governmental or business agencies.
We are aware that there are some places within our communities that allow usage of computers on line, however access is limited and many times there is a waiting list. What our office can also provide are quick links too many sites that our clients need to get to and as well some technical support to keep them going in the right direction.
A number of recently announced programs by government agencies such as the Canadian Agricultural Skills Service (CASS) or the Saskatchewan Youth Project Awards are very much Internet friendly as long as you have proper access. We hope by providing “FREE TECH” to the residents of South Parkland REDA more and more programs will get utilized by our residents.
Halyk urges interested individuals to contact their office which is located within the Melville City Hall at (306) 728-6855 to arrange an appropriate time to utilize this service.
